Weekly Summaries

Weekly Summaries aggregate your team’s check-ins, priorities, and escalations into digestible insights. Powered by AI, they help managers stay informed without reading every update.

Summary Types

Murmurd generates two types of weekly summaries:

What happened this week

Generated Friday afternoon, this summary covers:

  • Check-in highlights and themes
  • Completed and shifted priorities
  • Resolved and open escalations
  • Team participation metrics

Great for: Wrapping up the week, preparing for Monday planning

How Summaries Work

  1. Data aggregation

Murmurd collects check-ins, priorities, and escalations from the past week.

  2. Privacy filtering

Confidential items are excluded from summaries.

  3. AI processing

The aggregated data is processed by your chosen AI provider.

  4. Delivery

Summaries are delivered via Slack DM, email, or both.

Best Practices for Useful Summaries

The quality of summaries depends on input quality:

  1. Consistent check-ins: The more data, the better the insights
  2. Specific priorities: Vague priorities produce vague summaries
  3. Updated escalations: Closed escalations show progress
  4. Appropriate visibility: Use Team/Org visibility for things worth summarizing

Troubleshooting

“Summary seems incomplete”

  • Check that team members are checking in regularly
  • Verify priorities are being set
  • Ensure escalations are being created and resolved

“I’m not receiving summaries”

  • Verify your role includes summary access
  • Check Slack/email notification settings
  • Confirm the AI provider is configured

“Summary content seems off”

  • AI can occasionally misinterpret context
  • Report issues to support@murmurd.com
  • Consider adjusting prompt settings (Enterprise)
